Raw Food Diet 01/14/2009
 

Hello, everyone.

I am going Raw Eating for the next 10 days. During the past 8 years I came across a lot of literature that praises raw food diet. I have never tried it, so it will be an experiment for me.  At the same time I will stop smoking and alcohol intake.

Another source of my inspiration is The Essene Gospel of Peace. It contains many references to eating at the Nature’s table rather then cooking.  “And when you eat at her table, eat all things even as they are found on the table of the Earthly Mother. Cook not, neither mix all things one with another,lest your bowels become as steaming bogs.”

Last time during 7 Day Fast I had horrible itching, so now I am preparing myself for another 7 day fast, so I can actually enjoy the fasting time instead of itching. 10 Raw Food Diet will cleanse my body so I can transition to a fasting later.

Where will I get my protein?  
Plants, nuts, seeds, mushrooms.

Mushrooms are an excellent source of protein.
In fact most mushrooms contain on average anywhere between 15 % to 30 % protein of their dry mass. This compares to as much as 50 % of the protein content in eggs and 33% of most meats.

For the next 10 days I will eat raw, uncooked foods, no meat or fish.  I will share  my mental, emotional and physical experiences if any.
